Creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon are constantly playing games on social media with their fans by pretending to release the new season or teasing the premiere without giving them anything of actual substance.
The duo even went so far to Rick Roll their fans by posting a potential “first look”at the third season, but instead used old clips in combination with the lyrics of ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.
However, this April Fool’s Day, the creators released the very first newer episode of Rick and Morty, completely unannounced, on the network Adult Swim, leading fans to frenzy over tuning in.
While the release was predominately unannounced, on his Twitter page Harmon replied to a fan that asked for a new episode by sending the message: “What if I waved a magic wand and made the first episode from season three premiere tonight. Is that what you’d want?”.
Of course, the fan responded with: “Yes, that is exactly what I want, and everyone in the entire universe does too,” leaving Harmon to respond with: “happy now mother FU**A”.
For the fans out there who missed their original stream as it played live, the network Adult Swim has begun to stream it on their website, however unfortunately, the stream is not available to those outside of the United States. The first and second season are still available to watch on Netflix, which has rights to stream it outside of the general United States.
Alongside the much-awaited new episode, one short teaser was also released which revealed the supposedly improved and brand new pickle Rick. Take a look at the clips on Adult Swim.
In the meantime, Harmon has spoken previously regarding why the show has been experiencing a delay for this long.
