I slept in the car the night before he died, says George Michael’s lover Fadi Fawaz

Singing superstar George Michael’s boyfriend has revealed that he slept in the car the night before his lover died. Wham! star George was then found dead in his bed by Fadi Fawaz on Christmas Day when he went in to wake him before a planned Christmas lunch.

Fadi, 43, discovered his long term partner George, 53, had passed away at his home in Oxfordshire. Now, he has said that he had falled asleep in his car and had not seen his boyfriend on the night before he died.

The celebrity hairdresser has also claimed that his Twitter account was hacked and he was not responsible for a number of posts which claimed that George had previously tried to commit suicide on a number of occasions.

In an interview, Fadi spoke about how he had spent Christmas Eve, saying: “‘I never saw him. I fell asleep in my car and I never saw him that night. The police know everything – that’s the most important thing.” Previously, Fadi had said that he had spent the whole weekend at George’s house. He said he was shocked by what had happened to his Twitter account, saying that it had now been closed because of hacking.

Police are still investigating the cause of George’s death. While his publicist said that the star had died as a result of heart failure, early tests are understood to have proved inconclusive. Further tests, including a toxicology report, have now been ordered. Officers are also keen to speak to Fadi to try to find out if drugs could have played any part in the singer’s death. Results of the tests are not expected to be made public for a number of weeks.

So far, George’s death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious. It is understood that a funeral and a memorial service will be held to allow family, and fans to mourn the music legend.
