Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton Shrugged of resurgent Verstappen to Clinch Mercedes victory in Japanese GP.
The English man clocked a time of +0.211 earlier in the Japanese GP practice two after a rain-soaked circuit prevented rival Vettel from posting any time result in Practice Two.
This time around, Hamilton was on the brink of losing the race to Red Bull’s 20-year-old Max Verstappen. Hamilton who is 32 said during the race he saw Max pulling up to him, and he mentally told himself that he wasn’t going to come undone by little Max.
Verstappen who is going to be a free agent at the end of the season is on course to be scrapped up by Mercedes or Ferrari.
Mercedes Now Favourite
Mercedes are favorites to land the 20-year-old youngster as he made his preference for driving a faster car known during a press conference.
He said, he doesn’t dislike the idea of being in a Ferrari, but the allure of driving a faster car wasn’t negotiable.
Max said with a faster car you can win races, he is a 20-year-old seeking victory, and all he wants is to win races to measure up to Lewis Hamilton.
Red Bull is set to make a bold move to retain either Ricciardo or Max at the end of next season in 2018. Both max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo will become free agents at the end of next season, and red bull is desperate to retain a superstar in their squad line-up.
Lewis Hamilton is now clear on 59 points in the Driver’s World Championship after securing victory in Suzuka in the Japanese Grand Prix.
