A Flamin’ Hot Cheeto that looked eerily like the famous slain gorilla, Harambe, reportedly sold for $100,000 on eBay. The crisp reportedly comes on its own, without a bag or other Cheetos.
Someone reportedly bid almost $100,000 for a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto that looks like the famous gorilla, Harambe, who was killed last year.
The Harambe Cheeto
According to its description, the seller reportedly found the Harambe-looking cheeto in a bag of crisps.
The listing showed a picture of the crisp next to a picture of Harambe climbing a tree. The picture isn’t the most iconic picture of the gorilla but had nonetheless circulated last year.
The cheeto was listed online at a beginning bid of $11.99. However, the bids quickly shot up, finishing at a bid of $99,900 after 132 bids on Tuesday.
The buyer will reportedly receive the cheeto by itself, without a bag or any other cheeto with it.
The Seller’s Comments
“I opened up a bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos and as soon as I looked inside I came across this unique Cheetos that looks like Harambe the gorilla,” the seller said on the eBay listing. “This item is one of a kind!
“It measures up to about 1 1/2 inches in length,” the post continued. “This item up for bid is only for this unique Cheetos, bag not included. This makes a great collectible for anyone who appreciates rare items!”
Harambe the Gorilla had gained worldwide attention, when zookeepers at the Cincinnati Zoo shot him after a three-year-old child fell into the enclosure where the gorilla was.
The child was saved, and the gorilla was shot, which sparked an outrage all over the world. The staff nonetheless had claimed his death was necessary for safety reasons.
